Italian Salad Dressing Recipe
This Italian salad dressing recipe is a go-to in my family. It pairs perfectly with something on the heavier side, like my gnocchi or lasagna. The key to this dressing is letting it rest in the refrigerator, so the onions can get sweet and the flavors can blend.
Recipe: Italian Dressing
Prep Time: 5 minutes Makes: About 1/2 cup dressing
1 tablespoon sugar
2 tablespoons parsley, minced
1/2 medium yellow onion, diced (This seems like a lot of onion, but it is what makes this dressing so tasty)
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup red wine vinegar
1/2 teaspoon salt
Combine salad ingredients, cover and let rest for at least 1 hour.
In a bowl combine salad mixings and top with dressing. I always just use ice burg lettuce. It makes for a simple and palette pleasing salad.
